The club was most successful in the backstroke, where the Otters took nine places in championship and consolation finals. In the championship _ finals, silver second-place medals were won by Peter Marshall, in the 10- and-under boys’ 50 and 100-metre backstroke and Kathryn Peilatt in the 15 and over girls’ 100-metre backstroke. Watt, meanwhile, came sixth in the 11-12 girls’ 100-metre fly, sixth in the 200-metre fly and eighth in the 400-metre individual medley. Pellatt came sixth in the 200-metre individual medley and Matthews, sixth in the 200-metre breaststroke. In the Consolation finals, winn- ing Otters included Kirsten Taberner, Deborah Watt, Caroline Watt, Howard, and Pellatt. Otters swimming best ever times were Stephen Roks and Sara Stephenson.
