inquiring reporter Barrett Fisher Legislation making it mandatory for the drivers and passengers of motor vehicles to wear seatbelts and with the recent law enforcing the use of car seats for in- fants and toddlers, inquiring reporter asks the public if they agree with the law or not. To- day’s questions is: Do you agree with seatbelt legislation? Marg Smith North Vancouver Yes, I agree completely. Statistics show in acci- ‘dents, seatbelts prove to be very beneficial. 1 believe in legislaton for haby seats too. Lynn Grant North Vancouver { agree. Without seatbelts, people get in car accidents and get kill- ed and hurt. You could lose your child that way. I was in an accident and fortunately | had my little one in an infant seat. Rod Craig North Vancouver i} agree for obvious reasons, There’s a better percentage you’re going ot be unharmed in the event you have an acci- dent. But 1 don’t feel police should put so much emphasis on seatbelt legislation when there are a lot of other more important crimes on the North Shore. Olen Oberholtzer North Vancouver No, I don’t. I don’t see any reason if you drive carefully and sensibly. I've driven for 65 years and still have never need- ed it. It's your own per- sonal choice and ! find it uncomfortable and my wife does. Ron Aspe North Vancouver Definitely. Both my wife and I were in car acci- dents. Both of us wore seatbelts and our injuries were very minor com- pared to what could have happened. The attack on church property is the fourth this year. Vandals hit church HIGHLANDS UNITED CHURCH, 3255 Edgemont Blvd, was vandalized for the fourth time this year Friday night. Mirv Harper, Chairman of the church’s Property Com- mittee, says this latest attack on church property is the worst in the church’s 27 year history. According to Harper, 12 doors were kicked in, five of six offices ransack- ed, and three church fire ex- tinguishers sprayed over the auditorium floor. Harper says the damage appears to have been random and pointless, ‘‘just straight hell-raising’’. It does, however, resemble earlier at- tacks on the church, says Harper, in that a 6 ft. by 4 ft. Canadian flag was taken. “We've lost four flags over the past year, this one was locked in storage room cupboard.’’ A North Vancouver RCMP report says the attack is the second on the church in two weeks. No signs of forc- ed entry were found, and there is no indication as to whether the incident is related to other recent attacks on Lower Mainland chur- ches, according to the report. ., © Stience Diet © Exotic Birds a © Grooming © Pets & Supplies @-Tropical Fish AQUARIUM SPECIALS COMPLETE ©. 10 Gallon - from 15 Gallon - from Now 929- $54.95 569.95 Open PETS 229 Seymour River Place 2 biks.
