Johnston received the prestigious honor for his work in —e emere een emer
the areas of local history, boating education and seniors’
housing.

‘““& longtime senior director of the West Vancouver His-
torical Society, the recipient played a major role in the ac-
quisition, financing and establishment of the Gertrude
Lawson House at West Vancouver’s Museum and Ar-
chives,’’ said chamber director Jim MacCarthy.

Johnston was one of the founders of West Vancouver's
Marine Day celebrations, is a longtime director of the
West Vancouver Yacht Club, and as a member of the West
Vancouver Rotary Club, he played a major role in
establishing local seniors’ housing projects.

The retired department store executive was presented the
award by West Vancouver District Coun. Don Griffiths at
the annual general meeting of the West Vancouver Chamber

of Commerce.
