Of thase wines on the import roster, 170 are not stocked in B.C. They will, however, be for sale, along with the rest of the festivals products, at a special on-site liquor store. In addition te its river of wine for the tasting, the festival will feature such special events as a wine auction, a barrel-tasting din- ner and vertical tasting sessions of both wine and port. : The latter event will be a novel change of pace for those in the deep end of the viticultural pool who usually end up’ conducting horizontal tasting sessions. The bottles will be accompanied North Strare News by the Baron Patrick de Ladoucette of the Chateau du Nozet in Pouilly-Stur-Loire, France. The grand 70-room chateau has been in the baron's family ever since it belonged to an illegitimate daughter of France’s King Louis XV. Other headliners from tis deep-rooted and regal family tree include a former Bank of France chairman. De Ladoucette himself is con- sidered one of the world’s reigning wine experts and has been dubbed the Lord of the Loire. Some of the better known wines originating from Ladoucette’s French realm include Vouvray, Sauvginon Blanc and Pouilly Fume. Loire Valley cuisine will also be featured at the hotel’s Timber Club restaurant.
