REMEMBRANCE Day takes on extra meaning
this year.

Nov. ] Lis the SOth anniversary of the end of the First World
War. The conflict was supposed to be the war to end all wars,
Canadians made significant: contributions ta the Allied war
effort, but 68,000 of them didi’t come home.

Those who abso bravely served in the Second World War, the
Korean war and in United Nations’ peacekeeping programs will
be remembered throughout the North Shore on Wednesday.

North Shore veterans urge one and all to take ume to
remember at one of two outdoor public services. Both begin at
10:45 am.

A short paiade from 18th Street and Marine Drive in West
Vancouver ends at the West Vancouver Arch, across from the
Memorial Library. The North Vancouver event is at the Victoria
Park Cenotaph, Keith Road and Lonsdale Avenue. The services
are co-presented by the Roval Canadian Legion, Armw Navy Air
Force Veterans of Canada and the Korea Veterans Association.
