And nobod, seems to care,” said Hegedus. egedus and Tony Martin are co-owners of the Petro-Canada station at [5th Street and Marine Drive. On Monday, between midnight and 6 a.m., a burglar broke into the sta- tion by cutting a hole through a wall in the station’s public washroom. Although the station has an alarm system, the thief managed to avoid detection and made off with more than 100 cartons of cigarettes and some cash. The haul added up to more than $4,000. No one has t:cen charged for the December break-ins, even though police recov- ered a burglar’s fingerprint in the second hit, Hegedus said the alarm sounded in the ewo early morning break-ins, but the police response time was too slow.
