“IT IS pretty bad when we have to watch the News watch
Kathleen watch the garbage man.” That was one reader’s
response to a Jan. 28 story in which a Tatlow Avenue resident
criticized her garbage man, who seemed to leave more rui-
hish behind than he took away, [t’s not a national crisis, but
garbage is something that 3.7% of you are passionate about.
Sanitation worke7s say their bad reputation stinks, and say
some homeowners abuse the system, creating unpleasant and
potentially unsafe working conditions. Dog excrement,
household waste and building materials can all become haz-
ardous projectiles if not disposed of properly. It’s a dirty job,
as they say, but someone’s got to do it.
