As an architect, and a pioneer. of the West Coast style, he has stayed true to the principles of organic archi- tecture. And as an artist, he doesn’t like to mix mediums. He'll sketch in ink, But never watercolors in the: field, Even when he was piloting his own plane, a Cessna 182 that he has since sold, he would sketch out a scene and label it with colors.
