Ambleside Masters Mile
Run... Saturday, June 3 is the
day of the first annual
Ambleside Masters Mile Run,
The race is organized by West
Vancouver Parks and Reere-
ation to encourage master
running, and is part of the
West Vancouver Community
Day events, The race starts
adjacent to the West Van-
couver Ice Arena (786 22nd
Street) at 9:35 a.m. Runners
will run a one-mile (1.61 km)
downhill flat course just prior
to the West Vancouver
Community Day Varade,- Age
eligibility for the race is 35-
plus years for women and
‘40-plus years for men. . rizes,
donated by Nike, will be
awarded to the top three male

Loonies For Leukemia Tag
Day... The Leukemia
Research Fund of Canada,
B.C. region, is hoiding its
annual tag day on Saturday,
June 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 6
p.m. .The locations on the
‘North Shore where you can
exchange a loonie for choco-
late coins are Capilano Mall
and Lonsdale Quay. Tag Day
_is one of several events mark-
ing June as Leukemia
Awareness Month in B.C.
