Desert plant society holds annual show HUNDREDS OF cucti and suc- culents will be on display at the Desert Plant Society of Van- couver’s H4th unnual show and sale. Many of these plants are rare and unusual. Members will be on hand to talk about the plaints and to give first-hand information on their care and feeding. Taking place Saturday. June 3 and Sunday, June 9, this is the biggest show of its kind north of California and the only one in British Columbia. Succulent pliant enthusiasts, from beginner to serious collector, will be able to TOPS honors members FOUR LOCAL TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) members were honored for outstanding weight loss at a recent Area Chapter No. 2 awards night in the Sunset Community Centre. The members were Betty Jones, Genie Torvick, and Ernestine Warren. Special recognition was also given to Rachetle McCormack as the best Teens loser in the area. Chapter No. 2, which covers the North Shore, Pemberton, Squamish, Vancouver, Ladner and Tsawwassen, also won the North Shore honors for the best average loss per member during the past year.
