A large part of the program
support staff’s job is to help peo-
ple recognize their own skills and
potential to succeed.

Said Griffin: ‘‘When people
come to us, they are usually very
discouraged and down on
themselves. The program is a real
boost to the individual’s  self-
esteem. They see that they do have
something to offer — that they do
count.””

Potential program participants
should be 17 years of age or older.

national Business and Investment
Exposition, Nov. 22 to 24 at the
Trade and Convention Centre in
Vancouver.

Most exhibitors are small to
medium-sized companies from
across western Canada. In addition
to the exhibits, visitors can sit in
on a series of seminars.

Last year’s attendance figures
showed more than 13,000 visits
made to the exposition. Visitors to
the 1987 event included repre-
sentatives from Canada and 21
other countries, including major
delegations from the United States
and Asia.

The event takes place Nov. 22,
2p.m. to 8p.m., and Nov.23 and
24, noon to 8 p.m. Three-day
passes are available at the door for
$20. A one-day pass costs $10. The
passes include admission to the
seminars.

5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at the B.C.
Enterprise Centre.

All business associations and
municipal officials are invited to
attend the free session.
