ing will be available sad a tea room will be open for refreshmenis. The
fadies’ home league has also baked 74 pies. The fair takes piace on
Saturday, Nov. 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 105 W.

Hospice information
night scheduled

THE LIONS Gate Hospice Society
(LGHS) has schedulea its first
hospice information night for
Thursday, Nov. !7 starting at 7:30
p.m. in Lions Gate Hospital’s
medical day care room.

The information night is design-
ed to educate people about the
comfort and support provided by
the hospice.

In addition, the. goals of the
LGHS will be discussed along with
the ways in which individuals or
organizations can assist the socie-
ty.

The LGH hospice concept was
seeded seven years ago when a
group of concerned doctors saw

the need for a facility to care for
the special needs of dying people.

Hospice nurtures the attainment
of emotional and spiritual peace. It
is a place of refuge for terminally
ill patients who need comfort and
respite from their illness. It also
provides guidance and support for
their families.

LGHS is dedicated to the provi-
sion of excellent specialized care
for the terminally il! in an en-
vironment best suited to the com-
fort of the patient and the needs of
the family.

Hospice is not a place where liv-

ing people go to die, it is a place

where dying people go to live.
