MORGAN HORSE SHOW Local women ride winners NORTH VANCOUVER'S Dianne Moores and her Morgan mare Westcoast Rhapsody finished first in natural park horse and first in amateur to drive at the PNE horse show. Moores also placed first in ladies to ride, second in amateur (o ride and third in Canadian born and bred competitions at the 1986 B.C. Morgan Horse Show. Carole Edwards, also of North Vancouver and her four-month-old colt, Mr. Ozzann, placed first at the PNE and first at B.C. Morgan Show in the 1986 foal competition. The colt was sired by the Morgan stallion Shakers Ozz, who was bought in U.S.A. by Beverley and Gordon Kennedy. Shakers Ozz was the first syn- dicated Morgan stallion in Canada. THE BRITISH Columbia Amateur Hockey Association will again have local representation fol- lowing the election of Burnaby’s Larry Hayes to the organization’s executive committee at the recent 67th annual general meeting of the BCAHA in Penticton. Hayes takes on the position of -Lower Mainland District Director and joins Don Ackert of Port Co- quitiam in the dual post. For the past 12 years, Hayes has been actively involved in local amateur hockey, serving on the Burnaby Minor Hockey Associa- tion, Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association and B.C. Amateur Hockey Association ex- ecutives in past years. s With stints in both minor and junior hockey, Hayes last was general manager for the Provincial and Pacific Region Champion Burnaby Midget AAA Hawks last season and is now the manager of the Burnaby Bluehawk., the newest entry in the West Coast Junior Hockey League. In the same meeting, Bruce Allison of Richmond was named president of the BCAHA for his second term.
