WEST Vancouver’s lan
Hylands has been ranked in
the top 50 of Canada’s
swimmers in 1985.

The 17-year-old swimmer,
a former North Shore News
carrier, won two gold and
one bronze medal in the
Mexico Canada Javitational
Swim Meet held May 18 in
New Westminster.

46th in the 100-metre
freestyle, 42nd in the 200-
metre freestyle, and 30th
overall in the 400-metre
freestyle.

In his other event, the
West Vancouver swimmer is
rated 24th in the 100-metre
28th in the 200-metre and
30th in the 1,500-metre
breaststroke events.
