Cleaners robbed
NORTH VANCOUVER RCMP are requestiag ass
tance after an armed robbery occurred March 4 at Mr.
Rea's Cleaners, 1239 Ross Road.

The suspect produced a small handgun and made off
with an undetecniined amount of money ai approximaute-
ly 5 p.m., according to a North Vancouver RCMP
spokesman, A police dog found clothing belonging to the
suspect near Argyte secondary school.

The suspect is described as being male, 5°7" (1.68 m),
17 years old. medium build, with short, blond hair. He
was wearing light purple pants, :a sight grey wool zip-
pered jacket and a white baseball cap.

Deep Cove arson

ARSON WAS the cause of a car and carport fire on
April 9 at 1196 Deep Cove Rd.

A 1987 Ford Tempo, valued at $2,000, was destroyed
in the 5 a.m. blaze, according to a North Vancouver
RCMP spokesman.

The car was owned by a woman living in the adjacent
townhouse complex, according to a North Vancouver
District Fire Services (NVDFS) spokesman.

“Fire officials found some contents of the car approxi-

~ mately 20 feet (6.m) away from the fire scene suggesting
the car bad been broken into.
| No injuries were reported.

NV girl struck

A 14- YEAR-OLD North Vancouver girl received head
injuries after she was struck by a car on April i3 at 16th
Street and Mountain Highway.

Leaha Salzboru was listed in stable condition in St.
Paul’s Hospital to press time on Thursday, according to
a North Vancouver RCMP spekesman.

The teen was crossing Mountain Highway at 4 p.m.
when struck by a 1988 Mustang driven by a 21-year-old
North Vancouver woman. Police are investigating. :
