In a ceremony at the late October general meeting William Redman and Dolly Cartwright were presented with the awards by Dave Cullen, president of the Legion's Pacific Command. Redman was honored with the Meritorious Service Medal, one of only seven bestowed this year in the entire province. Cartwright received the coveted Meritorious Service Award. The citations — read . by branch past-president Bob Spray -- recorded the many years of unselfish and outstanding service given to Top Legion honors for two WV members the Legion by both recipients in numerous Capacities. Check your insulation North Vancouver residents who are con- templating upgrading the insulation of their homes will have the opportunity this month to evaluate the ef- ficiency of their present insulation. The BC Hydro aerial thermography display, which shows heat loss from the roofs of individual houses will be in the three branches of North Van- couver District Library during November. Thermography is a special photography technique by which areas of heat loss as revealed by radiation in the infra-red portion of the spectrum, are recorded by WILLIAM REDMAN Redman, a branch member for 32 years, served for three terms as branch president and was elected zone commander of the Greater Vancouver Zone in 1964. He has also served on numerous branch com- equipment carried in low- flying aircraft. The aerial survey was conducted by BC Hydro last January. Rooftops which appear black in the ther- mograms are well-insulated, but areas which are losing heat because of poor in- sulaton or roof damage show up white or light grey. Owners of houses between the Capilano River and Lonsdale Avenue will find their thermograms at the Capilano Library, 3180 Newmarket Drive. The area between Lonsdale’ = and Seymour River will be displayed at the main Lynn Valley Library, and from Seymour to Deep Cove at DOLLY CARTWRIGHT mittees as well as being parade marshal for the Remembrance Day parade on several occasions. Mrs. Cartwright, currently secretary of the Branch 60 Ladies Auxiliary, served successively during the 1970’s as -2nd_ Vice- President, Ist vice-president and provincial president of the Pacific Command Ladies Auxiliary. She was earlier president of the Branch 60 L.A., of which she is a life member with 25 years service, and in addition to her present duties as secretary is chairman of the social and catering com- mittee. Both awards had to be approved by the Dominion Command on the recom- mendation of Pacific Command. Among the large gathering present for the ceremony were Mrs. Redman and her husband's sister, Mrs. Gould. Meanwhile, the duties of sergeant-at-arms for the occasion were discharged by Mrs. Cart- wright’s husband, Doug Cartwright. at NV libraries the Seycove branch, 1204 Caledonia. The first official day of the exhibit is Saturday, November 8. BC Hydro consultants will be on hand to help patrons interpret the photographs from 9 am to noon at Lynn Valley and Capilano, and from | to3 pm at Seycove.
