RIDGEVIEW elementary Grade 3 students learn
about “the house that Gertrude bulit” in the
Gertrude Lawson House, home of the West
Vancouver Museum and Archives. A $3,000 grant

- Flare sighted but
‘no sign of source

NORTH: Shore Rescue was
’ paged shortly after midnight
on Saturday, Oct. 26 by West
Vancouver police to investi-
gate a report of flare sightings
in the Cypress Bowl area.

A night skier had been
reported late from a day of
skiing prior to the flare sight-
ing. .

Ten North Shore Rescue

members responded and
checked the top areas of Black
Mountain and “Yew Lake
Basin using loudhailer sound-
ing equipment.

No contact was established
wich anyone in the area, nor
were tracks located outside of
ski run areas. Also, no vehicles
were found at either end of
Black Mountain roads.

entire district, said a Schoo! District 45
press release. A letter of intent gives pri-
ority to the recreation department as it
serves the needs of community members
and groups, said the release. In the past
year, over 200 groups regularly used dis-
trict 45 schools in the evenings.
