Before judge Jerry Paradis in
North Vancouver provincial court
on March 21:

Peter Joseph Graham. 40, of New
Westminster, was fined $300 after he
pleaded guilty to driving without duc
care and attention on Marine Drive in
North Vancouver District on July 9,
1994.

Before Judge Douglas
Campbell in North Vancouver
provincial court on March 20:

Valtko Walter Stipic, 49, ‘of
Vancouver, was fined $500 after he
pleaded guilty to driving without due
care and attention on. the Trans-
Canada Highway in North
Vancouver District on Nov. 2, 1993.

Before Judge Bill Rodgers in
North Vancouver provincial court
on March 15:

Edward Brian Paul, 25, of North
Vancouver, received 12 months’ pro-
bation after he pleaded guilty to the
break, enter and theft of a business in
the 1600-block of Marine Drive on
July 14, 1994, in North Vancouver
City.

Paul was required to perform 50
hours of community work service.

He was to pay $100 restitution to
Capilano Glass and Screens Ltd.

Before Judge Doug Moss in
North Vancouver provincial court
on March 15:

James’ Dean’ Comeau, ..26, of
North Vancouver, was fined $400
after he pleaded guilty to stealing a
licence plate i in Kelowna on Aug. 23,
1994. :

- David Robert Craig, 30, of North
Vancouver, was fined $200 after he
pleaded guilty to hit and run on Aug.
26, 1994,
District.

unknown, was jailed 30 days after he
pleaded guilty to stealing food
belonging to Canada Safeway on July
8, 1992, in North Vancouver City.

The jail sentence was to be served
concurrently to the sentence he was
serving.

Before Judge Douglas Campbell
in North Vancouver provincial
court on March 14:

Sean Michaet Clark, 25, of
Ladysmith, received nine months’
probation after he pleaded guilty to
possessing a stolen Sears credit curd
on Sept. 17, 1993. in North
Vancouver City. .

Clark was required to perfonn 50
hours of community work service and
write a letter of apology to the card
owner.

Before Judge Bill Rodgers in
North Vancouver provincial court
on March 10:

Andreas Stieglitz, 45, of West
Vancouver, was jailed one day and
received 12 months’ probation after
he pleaded guilty (o assaulting a
woman on Jan. 19 in West Vancouver.

Before Judge Bill Rodgers in
North Vancouver provincial court

on March 9:

John Adam Veltman, 19, of
Penticton, was fined $500 - and
received {2 months’ probation after
he pleaded not guilty to possessing
marijuana for trafficking purposes,
but pleaded guilty to the lesser or
included offence of possession.

unteers, many voluntary and private organizations, and the City and District of North Vancouver are work-
ing together to make our community free of violence. In recognition of these efforts, the City, the District a.

and the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce have established a violence prevention award.

The award is available to an individual, group or organization whose event, program or action, during 1994 benefit-.

ed those living and/or working in North Vancouver in one or more of the following ways:

1. increased public awareness of the issue of violence
2 development of strategies to address violence

H 3. creation of, or amendments to, policies to effectively deal with the issue of violence

4, lasting effect, e.g. long term behaviour and attitude change
5. changes in the environment which will reduce the likelihood of violence
