tuday. The following is a sample
of the many voluateer oppor-
tunities available through the
North Shore Information and
Volunteer Centre.

FRIENDLY reliable receptionist
with a good telephone manner is
wanted by a substance abuse pro-
gram to perform general office
work such as answering tele-
phones, typing and filing. Orien-
tation provided. Hours are % day
per week at volunteer's conve-
nience.

SOCIABLE visitor to walk and
socialize with individual residents
ot a seniors lodge. A Russian
speaking person is wanted. Volun-
teer should understand special
needs of disabled seniors. Orienta-
tion provided. Flexible hours.

LEARN new crafts, work in a
friendly atmosphere and assist the
rehabilitation teachers at the
CNIB craft classes. Volunteer will
provide direct assistance to clients
and must have previous experience
in a variety of crafts. Training
provided. Hours are flexible, four
per week.

Elementary

THE PUBLIC is invited to the
tith annual North Vancouver
School District Elementary Band
and Orchestra Festival on Wed-
nesday, June 20 at the Lucas Cen-
tre on Hamilton Ave. Individual
and group performances will be
from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.

North Van has about 1,950 stu-

munity Arts Council needs a per-
son to take down old showings
and return to artists, hang new
works, iabel works and handle
sold items. Approximately 25
works are hung in City Hall on a
monthly basis. Volunteer should
have a good color and balance
sense. Hours are Thursdays, 9
a.m. to noon.

isting and new advertisers, and
pick up camera-ready ads. Could
also help to distribute finished
newsletter to libraries and city
