LEARN NEW skills, make new
friends and participate in your
community by volunteering. The
following is a list of the many
volunteer opportunities available
through the North Shore Informa-
tion and Volunteer Centre.

TEEN activity supervisor, 20 to
24 years old, who has a good
rapport and empathy with teens,
is needed at a drop-in centre. The
volunteer will help motivate and
monitor teens in a variety of ac-
tivities such as gym, hockey,
basketball and table games. Expe-
rience with at-risk teens is
desirable. This is a great opportu-
nity to enhance your career goals
in a related field. Hours are even-
ings, Wednesday 7 to !0 p.m.,
-Friday 7 to 11 p.m. and Saturdays
from 4 to 8 p.m. Orientation pro-
vided.

FRIENDLY sociable people
who are fluent in English are
wanted to accompany seniors on
various outings including shopping
trips, luncheons and_ sightseeing
on Mondays and Wednesdays,
1:30 to 4 p.m. Also needed is a
person to lead a group of seniors
in playing bingo once a week.
And a person experienced in sales
is wanted to assist seniors with the
operation of an in-facility TUC
shop. Assistance is needed with
sales, ordering, unpacking, etc.
Hours are Thursday and/or
Saturday 10 to 1] a.m. or after-
noons from 2 to 3 p.m. Orienta-
tion is provided for all these posi-
tions. If you enjoy seniors come
and share a few relaxing hours
and help fill this vital need.

GRAPHIC artist who enjoys
doing artwork at a daycare is
needed for a variety of fun art
projects such as painting name on
door, etc. Volunteer should be
creative and enjoy being around
children. Flexible hours.
