Seniors in the spotlight WEST VANCOUVER seniors are in the spotlight at Park Royal shopping centre’s north and south malls, March 24 through March 26. Members of the West Vancouver Seniors Activity Centre wilt be on hand with 20 displays showcasing a wide range of arts and crafts, The event will feature daily musical entertainment, information displays from several North Shore senior service agencies, demonstra- tions including cooking for men only and make-up for older women. ‘ A seniors’ fashion show runs Thursday, Mar. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the south mall and Saturday, Mar. 26 at 2 p.m. in the north mall. George Murrell of the Ambleside Dundarave Ratepayers was pleased with the look of the site, but concerned that the smull boat wharf was too exposed to the sea. He was also sceptical about calling the project area Ambleside Landing. “Boaters are going to start using it as a landing — it’s inevitable,"’ he predicted, “The name is appropriate because this was one of the origi- nal ferry sites,"’ explained Mayor Don Lanskail. The plans also include moving the old ferry building, for a second time, so that it is out of the view line down [4th Street.
