Summer's trend
is bright colors

AS SUMMER approaches, active people begin to look for lighter fabrics
and clothing that can perform and keep the wearer comfortable in a
variety of sports and weather conditions.

This summer, the trend is toward bright colors and fashion-forward
styling that can be worn anytime or anywhere.

Whether the clothing is authentic or aesthetic, most manufacturers are
designing clothes with fashion as the centrepiece. One line, for example,
is highlighted by bold geometrics and colorful graphics in both their
leisurewear category and tennis apparel.

In the leisurewear category many lines are introducing sun-and-surf in-
spired Island collections. The men’s and women’s collections include
pullover tops, tanks, T-shirts, pants and shorts in lightweight, comfor-
table fabrics.

The men’s collections also feature regular and jam-length water shorts.
The tops are highlighted by a colorful island beach scene beautifully ap-
pliqued on the back.

For sports enthusiasts, the pace in tennis apparel is the introduction of
a new collection named after and designed by a 21-year-old Swedish ten-
nis star.

Featuring a colorful Picasso-inspired print on the front and back of the
tennis shirt, this is geared to a younger, more aggressive consumer.
