14 - Sunday, October 9, 1988 - West Vancouver Villager LETTER TO THE EDITOR Burning bylaws queried im verse Dear Editor: . The gardeners of West Van are asked to refrain From burning their refuse, except in the rain. They pile up their clippings from May through July, September and August, when everything’s dry, To burn for eight days in the spring and the fall When they’re lucky if they can light fires at all And haif of those days some are fresh out of luck For they’re strapped to their desks trying to eam the odd buck And if not, and it’s dry, here’s the ultimate joke — They can burn, but God help them if they create smoke!
