was hand-made, or suited their
new home decor just perfectly.

A survey of North: Share News
staff members revealed that
everyone's favorite gifts were quite
different. Perhaps reading their
comments will help you pick out
something just right) for your
friends’ upcoming weddings.

© One of the most thoughtful
gifts we got was a brass door-
knocker that said on it ‘Peace to
all who enter here.’

“It was very appropriate, since
we were both active in peace and
disarmament issues at the time,
and it was not beyond the means
of the couple who gave it. But the
most useful wedding gift had to be
the vacuum cleaner from my
grandmother!"’ — B.B.

for 18 (from rich folks!). We also
got a very large box filled with
food staples like flour, salt,
seasonings, canned foods, pasta,
