But 1 think it was tater, aiter 1) had matured, that | began to under- stand the people side of medicine, the health side of things...the community side of things.” ON WHAT HE WOULD BE DO- ING IF HE DID NOT GO INTO MEDICINE: “I'd probably be teaching history and English somewhere. | really enjoyed histo- ty and English in school and that's where ! would have likely ended up.” ON WHAT HE LIKES TO DO WHEN NOT WORKING: “| love to run. | also love travelling. in the past | have done some extensive travelling in Europe and have also travelled in Africa, particularly in a Be Kenya. | travel every chance | get. I’m also really impatient in line-ups. 1 hate line- ups. That’s why | haven't taken up skiing...! don't like the idea of hav- ing to wait for a chair-lift. That's why { enjoy sunning, | can just get out there and go.” ON WHAT HE THINKS ABOUT LIVING IN B.C. AS OPPOSED TO HIS FORMER RESIDENCES IN ONTARIO AND ALBERTA: “4d live in North Vancouver up by Grouse Mountain and | just love the North Shore. | think it’s the most wonderful place in the world. I'm not going anywhere from here, and it’s an added benus to live on the same side of the bridge that you live and work on. | still visit Ontario, but ! would not like to live there now. | took a little while getting used to Alberta because of the pclitical philoso- phy. | would compare B.C. as most favorable to Ontario and Alberta.
