Award given for stance on nukes NORTH VANCOUVER-Burnaby Liberal can- didate Iona Campagnolo has been named the first recipient of the Dr. Hanna Newcombe Award by the national board of Operation Dismantle. Named for a_ long-time peace worker, the award will be presented to individuais who take risks in the cause of world peace and disar- mament. It is being given to the Liberal Party president for her recent stand calling for a nuclear freeze. The incident, which many criticized as a break from traditional Libera! policy, has caused some disruption in the Liberal ranks. However, some high profile Liberals have come out in support of Campagnolo’s stand, most notably Transport minister Lloyd Axworthy.
