POINTERS ON RRSPs

Centre to

give free

retirement fiectures

PEOPLE ABOUT to retire or already retired may be
interested in two upcoming free lectures. RRSPs,
RRIFs, Annuities: Some Points to Ponder is the title
of the lecture series being sponsored by the North
Shore Information and Volunicer Centre.

David McKeown, of Sun Financial Corporation,
will give one lecture on Jan. 16 at the West Vancouver
Senior Centre, 695-2 1st Street.

North Vancouver residents can attend a repeat of
the lecture on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at Silver Harbour
Centre at 144 East 22nd with financial advisor Bert
Wickham.

The lectures will cover such points as: What are the
advantages of RRIFs and annuities? What is meant by

rolling over a pension? What maturity options are
there at age 71? What are the tay savings and tax
changes?

There will also be time for a question and answer
period, and tea and coffee will be served. Advance
registration is encouraged.

These lectures are part of a continuing series of
retirement financial planning programs arranged by
the North Shore Information and Volunteer Centre.

ISRAELI FOLK dancing has come
to the North Shore.

The Newstalgia Israeli folk dan-
cing group will be meeting Monday
evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at
Sey-Lynn Hall in North Van-
couver. The program runs Jan. 19
to March 23.

Dance instructor, Neally Ritter,
is a native of Israel and began her
career as a professional folk dance
instructor six years ago in Toronto
where she organized classes and

workshops in schools and also had
her own dance group.

Israeli dancing has grown out of
the blending of the native dances
of many countries. The Jews from
Eastern Europe, Greecc, Yemen,
Spain and South America combin-
ed with the Arabic influence in
Israel have created a truly ethnic
form of creative expression.
