Ent __ Caribbean artists bring music to Commodore VANCOUVER will experi- ence two of the top Carib- bean artists - Crazy and Baron, appearing for the first time on stage at the Commodore Ballroom Saturday, September 28. They will be accompanied by the Vancouver based Car- ibbean group Karib, whose Teggae and soca sounds (a fusion of soul and Calypso music) have been thrilling audiences on the West Coast for the past four years. For this engagement, Karib’s horn section will in- clude an added trumpet and saxophone, going after the true richness of the big band brass sound. His latest album ‘Ins- tant Joy’ has. shown a new side of his personality, yield- ing such soul searching songs as. ‘Changes’ and ‘Make Love not War’. But the hit- song ‘Buss up shut’ and the test of the album shows that Baron is still in fine ‘Jam- mer’ form. His charismatic — style will surely continue to move: and: groove his au- diences :for."many years to come. Crazy, . known to his friends as Edwin Ayoung, is a calypsonian who has been ‘breaking down’ calypso tents since 1975.
