Weeklong sessions will be held at various locations in North Vancouver. Cost is $30.00 including a club sports bag. Jeff's Goalkeeping School will be held in the evenings during the month of July from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, with an ad- vanced class running July 2-6. After other teams were eliminated, the first of two showdown games was June 25 between Little Savages and the previously unbeaten Time Out Sports team. Savages came from behind in a nailbiter to win by 14 to IT WAS AN EXCITING MATCH, BUT _ NS cricket club downed SOUTH HILL second team defeated North Shore Winter Club second team at Memoria! Park last Saturday in an exciting game, notwith- standing some good bowling by H. Sidhu, J. Ede, E. Hira, C. Tottle and CG. Sahota, and good catching by S. Aguiton, D. Haig, M. Eccles, M. Moran and B. Adie. South Hill batted first and were ali out for 90 runs. Top- scorers were: H. Jones (15), W. Hussin (15), M. Shakh (14) and B. Goring (12). When NSCC began their innings they lost an early wicket but S. Aguiton was joined by G. Maingot and together they both began to add respectability to the score and to lay the fotindation for victory. South Hill were relieved when Aguiton and Maingot were bowled. G. Maingot had been very elegant and sound in his personal score of 17 rns. NSCC suffered fur- ther losses until H. Sidhu, making his debut with the team, strode to the wicket and proceeded to hammer the Bowling for a personal score of 44 not out. It was regret- table for NSCC that Sidhu ran out of partners with their team score at 84 — a mere 7 runs away from victory. Best bowlers for South Hill were: T. Akbar 4 for 10, W. . Hussin 3 for 18, and B. Gor- ing 3 for 27. On Sunday NSCC played against Wescan C.C. in a knock-out game for the. coveted Coronation Cup and, gave the defending cham- pions quite a scare before los- ing. Wescan batted first and scored 186 for § jn their allot- ted 40 overs, B. Parker top- scoring with 63. Wescan had placed themselves in a seem- ingly impregnable position. However, NSCC batsman Roy Herbert came pretty close to singlehandedly dethroning the champions with a magnificent - performance. Roy scored 83 superb runs before being bowled, hitting 8 sixes and 6 fours in the pro- cess. He was simply devastating! H. Sidhu (22) and L. White (19) gave nice support to Roy and Wescan Lynn Valley 13. Scott Marleau relieving in the fourth got credit for the win to force a deciding game Tuesday June 26. In the final game Little Savages again came from behind and bested Time Out Sports by a 15 to 9 margin to become the Playoffs winner. Tyler Garnes of Savages, who had pitched in two lop- sided playoff wins previously (over Cycles 39 to 1 and over Westlynn 22 to 2), got credit for his third win. Tyler salted it away in the top of the sixth with a two run homerun blast to help his cause. John Feeney bashed a three run homer. With the bases loaded in the sixth inn- ing, Jason Dobmeier came on to relieve and retired the last 2 batters to assure the win.
