Dear Editor:

May I suggest it’s time for
a change. I have been a
regular attendee at meetings
of City Council of late and am
appalled at the conduct of his
Worship, the Mayor. Mr.
Reid is a man no longer able
to curb his temper whenever
any controversial issue is on
the agenda. If your views
differ from his he brooks no
argument and either resorts
to a patronizing lecture or
threatens to . adjourn’ the
meeting.

What happens to some
people when they are elected
to office to represent the best

interests of their citizens?
Does the power eventually
make them lose sight of the
‘little guy’’ who elected him
in the first instance?

Then again he doesn't
reside in our City - just tries
to run it - so doesn’t have to
live with all the problems
we're going to be faced with
along our waterfront.

I certainly don’t have the
answer to Mr. Reid's present
attitude and can only suggest
once more - EIGHT YEARS
IS ENOUGH - IT’S TIME
FOR A CHANGE!

words to the current discus-
sion on Aid for Independent
Schools.

It is my belief that
Independent Schools are not
just for the wealthy. Neither
are they necessarily ‘‘reli-
gion oriented."" They are
schools which teach certain
standards; social, ethical,
and moral too if so desired.
These standards are basical-
ly set by the parents who pay
the school authorities.

The Public should be made
aware that very large num-
