and their birthday, Halloween is the most important day
of the year for nearly every child — or every child-at-
heart. It's a time of mystery and fantasy as they don
costumes and go door-to-door throughout the neighbor-
hood shouting the traditional chant, ‘Trick or treat!”
Bul whoever heard of a kid who actually wanted to be
given a trick? No, it’s clearly the treats that they're after,
although sometimes they will be required to sing a song

or tell a joke before they receive it. Nevertheless, All
Hallows Eve is most definitely a time for tricks. For me,
the trick every year is to come up with a Robyn costume
(ie. Rockin’ Robyn, Robyn Red-Vest, etc.). For others,
the trick is to decorate their homes or yards in the
seariest fashion possible — complete with visuals and
sound effects. But, by far, (he most common Halloween
trick played by adults is the old turn-off-the-lights-and-
pretend-they’re-not-home trick. Watch for it tonight!
