FALL is here and it’s a
good time to look at
zeplacing those old
doors or windows.

When choosing between
exterior wood doors and
metal-clad doors you should
consider appearance, price,
location, exposure to cle-
ments and maintenance.

Wood doors have a classic
look for high-end and older
homes as front entrance ways.
There are many. styl
choose from and rhey will fir
to odd size frames more read-
ily. A good wood door has 4
solid teel when a good mor-
tise lock and roller-bearing
hinges are used.

Metal-clad, foam — core
doors offer a wide choice of
decorative glass inserts for
front entrances as well as the
classic six-panel colonist style
for side entrances and garages.
The foam core provides a
good insulation abilicy and
has fewer tende to warp
than do wood doors. ‘This
makes metal doors excellent
for southern expesures and
areas of high moisture. Metal
