Family celebrates
50th anniversaries

“IMAGINE that you are a young, cligible woman living in Canada in 1946. Men are few and
far between us they are all off serving their country in the war in Europe. Finally, after five years
of uncertainty, worrying and comtemplation, the war ends and the heroes return home to
Canada. Everyone is ecstatic fo have life back to normal and are ready to get hitched.

Dating, which had almost seemed like a thing of the past, becomes the national pastime.
Two brothers, Clare and Fred. and their sister Dorothy all got married within 90 days of each
other in 1946, and now, 50 years later, all three are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversaries.
