on the Criminal Records Review
Act because he did not know the
vote had being called.

Dalton, the Liberal’s attorney ,

general critic, left the legistature
when the Access to Abortion
Services Act vote was called.

He told the News he agrees with
the intent of the bill, but said it
won't stand a court test and is full
of loopholes,

“Here we are seeing a bill that
will only add to pressure on courts,”
he said.

attacked Dalton for abstaining.

“By abstaining.” said Mitchell,
“S think any MLA does a tremen-
dous disservice to their. con-
stituents.”

He said the i importance of voting
lies not in how MLAs vote, but that
they vote.

Although Liberals profess to
encourage ‘free voles, some Liberals
“flee the house" when controversial
votes are called, Mitchell said.

Schreck said abstaining is an
avoidance technique.
