In an effort to promote recycl-
ing on the island, the Greater
Vancouver Regional District
(GVRD) has announced it will
change the current fee structure
for garbage removal in 1993.

Under the new system, all tax-
payers will pay approximately $70
each year in garoage tax.

In addition, there will be an
annua! decal fee of $25 for the
first can of garbage, and $75 for
each subsequent can
