Health Nursin:

A hearing screening study showed that the over 550. students received a more
teliable hearing screening using a sound-proof audiology’ van. We are working -
on securing this more ideal form of hearing testing on a regular basis.

Community Health Nursing plays a major role helping to integrate Speci i

Needs children with complex medical conditions, into their neighbour- oe
hood schools. Special Needs Advisory Committee made up of parents, school
board and health department personnel, identified and discussed major issues o
and concems involved with the program. :

Created a School Health Issues Committee and invited pr incipals, to
discuss how to improve health services to the schools.
