Lonsdale windows
get new look for

BETW DEC. 27 and Jan. 5. local artusts. ar-
chitects, photographers and designers sill transform
Lower Lonsdale store front windows for North Van-
couver's first art walk.

First Might Art Walk: 30 Window Views, held in
conjunction with Firs: Night. Vancouver s annual art
celebration, takes art out of conventional galleries
and brin: to the streets.

It's being organized by the North Shore Arts
Commission and the Lower Lonsdale business com-
munity.

submissions. Members will choose and curate be-
tween one and three windows each, some of which
will be based on a specific theme.

The two North Shore school boards are planning
to decorate a window, and gallery curator Karen
Love will design a window at Presentation House,
she says.

“Part of the Commission's interest in this is to
draw people to the North Shore area,’ says Ander-
son. ‘it’s also to bring art into a new environment.”’

The whole walk will take place between the foot of
