final — twice

SEYCOVE is the champion intermediate high
school boys basketball team, but the school had to
win the final game twice before being awarded the

utle.

Seycove defeated Hillside
57-41 in the third playoff
round last week and then
beat Argyle 60-44 in) the
final, But i wasn't really the
final, because Argyle had
finished on top in the regular
season.

So Seycove had to beat
Argyle a second time. this
ume winning by ao con-
vincing 49-37 score.

However. Hiltside is the
big success story ino other
boys categories. winning the
iunior, yuvemile and bantam
titles:

Juvenile Boys — Third

semor girls basketball as
well, clinching a place in the
provincial AA playoffs fast
week.

The Highwaymen were
playing in the Crehan Cup in
New Westminster, and won
their first two games to carn
the provincial berth. In the
first round it was Hillside 4&
Kilarney 40. while the other
North Shore entrant,
Handsworth lost &6-49 to
New Westminster.

In the second = round
Hillside defeated Burnaby
Central 43-40 while Hand-
sworth went down 44-27 to
