It has since been learned that Klan members have been distributing their literature to high school students on the North Shore as well as across the bridge in Vancouver. He made the an- nouncement during discussion of a petition from the Silver Harbour Centre, signed by 640 people, op- posing the proposed lounge and requesting a _ public hearing. - The centre sent a copy of the petition to North Van District council last week, who referred it to the recreation commission. In addition to the public meeting, Payne said the rec commission will also meet with the executive of Silver Harbour to explain their stand and listen to responses. Letters requesting a public meeting on the subject had been received by both councils and the North Shore News prior to the announcement.
