Where can you have an execution that js not really an execution, a marriage proposal to one leading to marriage to another, a long lost son returning to life, and a happy ending to boot Where else but in Gilbert and Sullivan’s “MIKADO”. This brilliant musical comedy which has been making audiences laugh for over 100 years will open the summer season of _ the reorganized Theatre Under The Stars (T. U.T.S) on the stage of the Malkin Bowl in magnificent Stanley Park. Under the direction of GaS veteran Clifford Cox. with musical direcuon by Jerry McDonald and musical staging by Alex McLeod this firs’ T.U.T.S. performance of 1980 will open on July 3 and continue nightly, except Sundays, through July 12. An extremely cast which includes Marcel La Rochelle as Nanki- Poo, talented | Norman Slack as Pooh-Bah, Dawne Lacterman as Yam- Yum, and Dorothy-Jean Lloyd as Katisha promises a highly entertaining per- formance which will surely be enjoyed by all Van- couverites and visitors in the beautiful Stanley Park venue.
