West Vancouver District Council made the decision at the request of the Seniors Activity Centre Com- mittee, but without the consent of the die-hard smokers who frequent the facility. Despite complaints by smokers, some of whom are volunteers, council approved the ban last April, but asked staff to monitor the situation and report in six months.
