Val Mason, = managing director of Presentation House Productions, said the compa- ny’s bold new initiative helps meet a need in the theatre community on two fronts, by providing funding and perfor- mance space. “There is a shortage of small to mid-size theatres in the Lower Mainland, so just having access to space is an issue,” said Mason. “Established theatre compa- : partners in plays nies receive money through arts funding bodies such as the B.C. Arts Council. New and emerging artists and indepen- dent producers really don’t have access to those funds.” Shows may be previously produced er new and original works. Application forms are available at Presentation House. The deadline for sub- issions is April 28.
