Staffat Pemberton Station, 135 Pemberton Ave., will be decked out in green to serve Kilkenny and Guinness, There will be door prizes and a draw for a Guinness jacket. Sailor Hagar’s Brew Pub, 86 Semisch Ave., plans to have Oatmeal Stout on tap by Wednesday night. Door prizes are available. Raven Neighbourhood Pub, 1060 Deep Cove Rd. will have Irish music. Staff will be dressed up and serving green beer and special drinks. The restaurant has an Irish theme ali month. Peopie entering Maplewood Pub, at 1970 Spicer Rd., will be greeted by staff wearing green shirts and serving Guinness and Kilkenny, There will also be tood specials on Irish stew and oie and leek pot pic. Cross Neighbeurhood Pub, at 2989 Lonsdale Ave., serves up spe- cial drinks, corn beef hash and cabbage rolls. Irish music will be played. Guinness hats, ‘T- shirts and a jacket will be given away. The pub is also sellin shamrocks for one dollar wit proceeds going to Multiple Sclerasis, The Rusty Gull Neighbourhood Pub, 175 East Ist St., is decorated for St. Patrick’s Day and will be serving Irish stew and other food specials. Arrested RCMP officer resigns Katharine Hamer Contributing Writer A North Vancouver RCMP officer under investigation for drug trafficking has tendered his resignation. Const. Scott Simpson was arrested Feb. 16 under suspicion of pessessing and distributing marijuana. Simpson, a 12-year veteran of the force, has not yee been charged with these offences, although he was suspended trom work insmediately after his arrest. North Vancouver RCMP Supt. Jamic Graham | said at the end of laste week that Simpson had signed an “irrevo- cable” termination document “of his own volition” to quit, and was now ne longer a member of the force. Search warrant information regarding Simpson’s case was scaled by police at the time of his arrest. Hawever, the results of an internal police investigation will be presented to a federal prosecutor within the next few days. Local Mounties have already recommended charges of Possession and trafficking. Const. Simpson had been based in North Vancouver tor three years.
