Pam writing concerning what
I consider to be ulter irrespon-
sibility in screening your letters
to the editor column.

On Friday, May 3, a letter
from an R. Hepburn of North
Vancouver was published on
page 8 of the North Shore
News. It alleges incompetence
and profiteering amongsi
medication-prescribing
psychiatrists. It requests indi-
viduals contact the Citizens
Commission on Human Rights
to share their experiences, This
commission, the letter states,
was ‘‘established’’ by the
Church of Scientology.

Considering the background
of the ‘‘Church’’ of Scien-
tology, enmeshed in corrup-
tion, why do you think they
would like the names and ad-
dresses of some of your less
stable readers?

Other than Doug Collins and
the Sunshine Girl, your paper
is basically a harmless waste of
a tree. But when you publish
come-ons for cults, you are
dangerously disserving your
readers.

Leave the forest alone

Dear Editor:

This is a letter about Cove Cliff
school.

They are going to cut down lots
of trees. The school is taking
away some beautiful environment

as well as my favorite place to
play.

I think they should leave the
forest to itself.

We sure have some very nice
people on the North Shore who
are so thoughtful. A lady found
my wallet, with my ID cards and
a little money enclosed, that I had
lost in Lawson Park recently.

Before 1 had reached home, she

had delivered it to my address,
after having walked up our steep
hill. 1 am sorry she did not leave
her name and phone number, for
I would like to extend my grateful
thanks to her. She made my day.
