The centre wiii provide informa- tion on special 75th anniversary events planned by the West Van 7Sth Anniversary Committee. In addition, hiking maps and infor- mation on parks and recreation facilities, community and GVRD parks on the North Shore, Cypress Bowl, municipal services, libraries and transportation will also be available. The information centre has been made possible through the cooper- ation of several agencies. Canada Manpower’s Challenge °87 pro- gram will cover most of the salaries of students staffing the booth, and a subsidy ‘to that amount is paid by the 75th An- niversary Committee. At present, Scott Keddy and Kim Gostelli are employed at the centre. A third local student, Karen Jackson, is working in the office of the com- mittee. The chalet housing the ven- ture has been donated by Pacific Holiday Villages. Chalet hours are Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (closed from 5 to 6 p.m. for dinner), Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (clos- ed noon to 12:30 p.m. for lunch and 5 to 6 p.m. for dinner), Sun- day, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The tele- phone number is 922-0803. Field Frolics is a program for four to six-year-olds that features a combination of field games and arts and crafts. The program runs Monday to Friday, July 6 to August 28, from 3 to 4 p.m. Regis- tration is done by the week. Field Fun in the Sun is similar to Field Frolics but is designed for children ages seven to 10. The program runs Monday to Friday, July 6 to August 28, from 2 to 3 p.m. Registraiion is done by the ‘week. Both programs are offerec at Draycott, Kilmer and Viewlynn Parks. Cost is $10 per week. The times of each program coincide with wading poo! hours so participants can enjoy a splash in the pool as well as take part in the games and crafts during the pro- grams.
