Just a short hop across the waters in
the Seabus Terminal Downtown.

Water Strect and the surroun-
ding area of Vancouver has to
be one of the most delightful
parts of the city to visit during
this holiday season.

With its wonderful “Old
Style” setting of cobbles and
gas lanips, it conjures up visions
of Christmases long ago.
Especially with the added at-
traction of the decorated
windows.

Woodwards, just around the
corner, has excelled itself once
again and brings the magic of
Christmas tc children of all
ages. This makes a trip to
Gastown well worth a little ex-
tra effort. The stores aiong
Water Street are also quite
delightful.

For those who have not ven-
tured to this unique and char-
ming part of town for some
time, you will be amazed and
delighted at some of the
changes taking place. No longer
is it just a tourist attraction.
More or less gone are the
myriad tourist type stores, to be
replaced with high quality stores
offering merchandise from high
fashion Italian clothing to ex-
otic soaps and fragrances to one
of the largest selections of
Native Canadian art and ar-
tifacts anywhere in Vancouver.

At the top end of Water
Street, the refurbishing of one
of the older buildings is taking
place, The Landing, will be
transformed into a new shopp-
ing area, scheduled to open in
early 1987, that will provide the
finest merchandise.

Aliso new to che area is the
recently oncned Sinclair Centre.

Another transformation of a
heritage building, the Sinclair
Centre, along with The Station,
offers shoppers a unique en-
vironment in which to shop.
The buildings’ character adds to
shopping pleasure and provides
an interesting place to explore.

Before the Christmas season
is through, treat the family toa
trip down Water Street and its
environs, Parking is casy and -

the children... Plus

convenient at Woodwards, with
access either off Cordova or
Water Street itself. Further,
there is a small open lot next to
The Station, Of course, the
Seabus, just a short hop across
the water from the foot of
Lonsdale, makes access straight
