— the Lynn Valley
business that was the
target of .an armed
robbery -dttempt that
involved a phony gun
didn’t have any money
for the youthful rob-
bers.

But that’s not stopping
North Vancouver RCMP
from proceeding with armed
robbery charges against two
North Vancouver teenagers
— one aged 15 and the other
17 — after the abortive rob-
bery attempt Thursday.

The two walked into a
Lynn Valley exercise salon at
6 p.m. Thursday, produced
the hand gun. They left
when told there was no
money on the premises and
were picked up shortly after
the attempt was reported to
police.

Police say the handgun
produced during the robbery
attempt was realistic but was
not a real gun.
