Dear Editor:

[ read with deep regret Ms.
Werden’s letter (Lansdale is not
India). Having travelled extensive-
ly on more than one occasion
through India, 1 can assure Ms.
Werden that the vast majority of
stores there are not open 24 hours
a day but assume, by and large,
the same hours of operation as
their North Shore counterparts.

Either £ am incredibly paranoid
or my conclusion that Ms. Werden
is spouting typical and, dare | say,
ignorant racist remarks is correct.
In this world where we should be
striving for a peaceful and com-
passionate global community, [
find her remarks distressing and
dangerous.

in the future 1 would hope that
remarks such as Ms. Werden's be
kept where they belong, possibly in
Doug Collins’ column.
