(FREE CONSULTATION) Dear Editor: Regarding the spouight review on Robin Lecky in the Sunday, Feb. 24 edition of the North Shore News, we in the free enter- prise agency business would like to make a reply to Mr. Lecky, president of Music 91. Although [ am flattered that Mr. Lecky accuses me of being the only ‘‘axe-grinder,”’ I would ike to point out that from the beginning, I have been very for- tunate in being supported by Note-Able Entertainment. Pacific Show Productions, and to a large degree, by Perryscope Produc- tions. {t must be pointed out that all agencies are in a state of comneti- tion. Many are depending upon corporate clientele, and we under- stand their position of ‘‘quiet support.”’ Regarding Mir. Lecky’s state- ment — “free enterprise agencies are not capable of handling such a Jarge undertaking,"* 1 would like to point out that some of the ma- jor entertainment companies in Vancouver have been in business anywhere from 15 to 30 years. Mr. Lecky is giving the impres- sion that Music 91 is just starting. In fact, Music 91 was in progress as early as last summer with shopping mall tours throughout the province and involvement with some major conventions and First Night. The free enterprise agencies pay for memberships in organizations such as Tourism Vancouver, the B.C. Hotel Association, and the Pub Owners Association, etc. How are we going to compete with an organization that con- tributes anywhere from $5,000 to $50,000 to various conventions, as was the case in 1990? 1 am not blaming the staff of Music 91 — a job is a precious thing. As I see it, Music 91 is a project of the Social Credit gov- ernment. Sue Cook Siegel Entertainment Ltd. Vancouver appreciated. News cannot publish all letters.
