DISTRICT COUNCIL
WEST VANCOUVER plans to

increasr. buiiding bylaw fees in the
municipality.

A bylaw amendment proposing
a five per cent increase over the
fees approved in 1989 was taken
through the initial readings on
Monday night by West Vancouver
District Council.

If the bylaw is approved, a
building permit will cost an appli-
cant $30.98 for a project valued at
up to $1,000, and range up to
$616.36, plus $4.83 for each
$1,0C0 over $100,000 in project
value.

The minimum fee for a new
dwelling, according to the bylaw,
shall not be less than the fee
charged fer a building valued at
$150,000.

The fee goes up 10 per cent
(minimum $50) when additional
approval is required from council,
a municipal committee or the
board of variance.

When people do unauthorized
work, without a permit, they will
be required to pay double the
building permit fee, to a max-
imum of $560, with an added 10
per cent service charge.

Inspection fees will cost $60 for
the first hour, and $40 per hour
thereafter.

Demolition fees stand at $50 for
a single family home or duplex,
and S150 for other buildings.
